The One and Only

India #6: Lights, Camera, Action!

Last night, my grandfather starred in two movies. Not really, but he did two theater stage performances. The first one, had him as a lawyer. People came asking him for money to create something, and he kept kicking them out. At the end, somebody came to give him his money back. The guy made my grandfather’s character happy by singing a song, and persuading him to sing along. The guy brought the money, but the money had disappeared, but after the song, the lawyer didn’t care about the money anymore! After the curtains had closed, the residents of the tower tried to keep us entertained. They put on a synthesizer performance, a dance to music, and more. And, it was all during the makeup period! Then, in the second movie, my grandfather is a helper of a king. The king doesn’t like getting dirt on his feet, and when my grandfather doesn’t have a plan, he kicks him out. The other helper says that we could put water on the floor, but then it will turn to mud. Then he thinks that they could carpet the floor, but if someone comes from outside, they will make it dirty again. Then, my grandfather comes back, with someone else. The king first tells him to get out again, but this time he is a bit curious. He tells my grandfather to wait, and he asks about the man. My grandfather says that the man has an invention that won’t get your feet dirty, and that just made it more interesting for the king. The man takes out two pairs of solid cloth with holes in them (now called shoes) and tells the king to slide his feel into the holes. The first shoes don’t fit, but the second ones do. The king tries walking around in them, and they are perfect! Then, he rehires my grandfather, fires the other assistant, and hires the shoemaker. After that, it’s time to go back up. But, not for me and my parents. We will be taking some pictures. The first picture, was on the kings throne, the one me and my grandfather sat on before. Later, we asked a resident to take some pictures of us. Apparently, this person was really good at photography, and took pictures of us in the best ways possible. After that we went up, had dinner, and went to bed, thinking about the next big day, the last day of Puja. (The next day means today, I wrote last night at the top). Bye!
