Recently I read the book “Alone Bird” by Amelia Peace and illustrated by Georgina Vaughan. The book talks about how we should embrace children with Autism.
Why did I like the book?
I liked the book because it gives an important message to be inclusive towards children with autism. We should understand that children with autism behave in a certain way because of loneliness and we should ensure we play with them.
Which characters appealed to me the most?
My favourite character was Tilly Bird. She is a child with autism who feels ignored and alone, so she screams and cries to just be heard and she hits and pushes to just be seen. She is misunderstood, but at the end of the book she is included in the class.
Is this book suitable for all readers?
Yes. This is suitable for everyone because it sends out a positive message to all children and adults alike.
Am I interested in reading more books by the same author?
I want to see more books written by Amelia Peace!
