Recently, we started watching an old Indian TV series that was re-uploaded onto YouTube called “Bharat Ek Khoj” (The Discovery of India, based on a book by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru). We watched an episode of it (Episode 3, link at the top of the post), where it showed how Indian civilisation was during 1000 B.C.
The episode shows how people settled near rivers and fought with each other for cattle. Only few people knew how to ride a horse and there was no religion. People used fire for various purposes.
There are a lot of prayers and songs too. In some of the episodes, there are prayers about fire and water. The prayers about water and fire show how rare it was to find someplace with its fair share of land and water, and how hard it was to light a fire, since back then, they didn’t have matches or lighters.
I’ll write more about this series once we watch more episodes, but for now, see you soon!
