People in New Zealand prepare for Christmas quite early, as I have noticed for the last 3-4 years. One thing that has been going on to celebrate this fact for six decades is the “Farmers Santa Parade”

The parade is a celebration for Christmas when people gather all around Queen St, and Britomart. For a small amount of people, this “Santa Parade” isn’t as enjoyable than others (like me). Overall, the parade is fun, but when you’re like me, and you do sports on Saturdays and Sundays, getting a bus service can be a pain in the neck. Today, for example, I discovered my usual Sunday bus stop was closed for two months because of a renovation for the street. I also discovered that the bus stop we had to use only today, the bus service we had to use only today, was closed.
We had to walk all the way to Britomart, just to discover that the only bus service to where we were going was another long way away. So, we took our chances and went to the overly crowded train station.
We got a train to Newmarket, and luckily it skipped a stop.
So, you see, the real moral of this story is: Some have fun whilst others don’t.
[Just saying, I don’t mean any bad things to the parade, as I know this is the last year it will be on at Auckland; I just want to express this.]
