[This book is part of a series called “The Rouges”. You can read more about it here]
I recently read a book called Haunted Warriors. I borrowed the book from the Auckland Central library. It is written by Lian Tanner.
This is a story of 4 friends, a cat, and a chicken (who has amazing powers that it does not know of) trying to defeat a very evil man who was awoken from the dead known as the Harshman. They eventually find a ghost, but with only the cat, chicken and ghost, they have to defeat the Harshman as well as find out who raised him.
Why did I like the book?
I liked the book because of the plot. In the story, I like it that they have to do a lot of exciting things. This made me want to read the book more to find out what happens, and makes it more exciting. Finally, they defeat the Harshman – which was awesome!
Which characters appealed to me the most?
My favourite character in the book was Pummel, a boy who needs to defeat the Harshman to get a magic tool back from him.
Is this book suitable for all readers?
The book is suitable for any child who would like a long and interesting read. I don’t think it would appeal much to under-5’s.
Am I interested in reading more books by the same author?
I am interested in reading more books by Lian Tanner and hope to read and review more soon.
I won’t spoil the book for anyone with more details, so you can enjoy it more.
