The One and Only

India #11: Just a minute…

Maybe you thought that there wasn’t a computer here. But, there is! Hooray, huzzah, yahoo! So anyways, lets get talking about the flight to Ranchi!

The Ranchi flight was (sort of) a smooth experience. When we got to the airport, there was a line to get in for flights. The people were taking the tickets, and I felt sorry for the people who didn’t have a printer and sadly got the email deleted. When we got in, we went straight to the baggage drop. What we found next, was unexpected, trust me. We waited in line for about 5 minutes, 10 tops, and after that, the man at the counter said that we had to actually scan our bags for prohibited goods first. This was only for suitcases, as the security check was later. After we did that, the nice man saved a spot for us in his counter. We dropped our baggage onto the conveyor belt, and then went off to the security check.

At the security check, the man checking asked me what grade I was in, to know my age. I told him, (not telling YOU!) and then he asked me something else in Hindi, an Indian language. I told him that I don’t speak Hindi, and he said he only understands Hindi, not English. Funny thing is, he said that in English!

Then, we went to the flight gate. It was still on a flight to Mumbai, another place in India. We bought some water, and my dad tried to call the Kolkata set of grandparents, but he didn’t know the WiFi passcode. Then eventually my grandfather just called him instead. We then soon boarded the flight.

The flight was a short one, and I still tried to sleep through it. Bad idea. It was so short, the flight attendants kept making announcements. When I finally got a minute of sleep, I woke to the sound that only a plane landing on Ranchi’s runway can make.

After we landed and got our stuff from the conveyor belt over there, my grandfather and uncle came to pick us up. They had a small, cubic car. After that. we went to their home at a place called Sail City, which is an apartment complex, but instead of houses, it’s literally an apartment complex of exactly same looking apartment buildings! We went in, had a shower, and had some tea, and so-so on.

WHAT THE PLACE IS

Soon, we went for a walk. Ranchi is actually quite a nice place if you take away mosquitoes, and……..that’s it! We all bought Ice-Creams. Do you know the brand of ice cream called Streets? Well, here it’s called Kwality Walls, and it’s even better! We had two Indian foods, called Jhalmuri and Samosa.

AND THE VERY NEXT DAY

wa wa wa wa wa wa wawa. What? You don’t know the Duck Song? Well, sure. But let’s be serious, the next day. Today, we had Chow Mein for breakfast, and I did some caricatures. After my uncle took up water-color painting recently, I had a knack for realistic drawing. Why, he has a painted picture of me when I was two! Well, I drew some pictures using the Photos app on my dad’s old phone as inspiration, and they turned out to be great! Now we are up to the post. After that, I went to the computer and wrote.
