We’re back after our short day-long break and are also back into the Olympics! Today a lot of things are happening, so let’s get straight into it!

Let’s start with weightlifting. In weightlifting, the Philippines have won their first gold medal ever! Hidilyn Diaz has won the first ever gold medal for them ever, which is also cool since they have been trying to get gold for almost 100 YEARS! Hidilyn also has another record for the Philippines in the Olympics, where she was the first woman to win an Olympic medal for her country. Nice!

Another cool thing, our own New Zealand has won their first gold medal for this Olympics! Grace Prendergast and Kerri Gowler have gotten a gold in rowing, and since it’s NZ’s first gold medal in the 2021 Olympics, we’re all really proud!
